The International Arts & Antiquities Security Forum (IAASF) is the only conference dedicated to the protection of arts, antiquities and cultural heritage. Providing delegates, and others involved in the protection and safe custody of buildings, artefacts and cultural events with an understanding of existing and emerging threats that the sectors face.
The IAASF programme was especially designed to maximise the learning experiences of the delegates. The Forum attracts world class international speakers on a wide range of specialist, but relevant subjects; all designed to aid the delegates in protecting their assets.
2017 theme was 'Protecting Cultural Venues from Adversarial Risks' which included discussions and presentations in the following key areas:
Threats facing the arts, antiquities and cultural heritage sectors.
Protection of cultural and heritage sites.
Operational best practises and standards
Adopting a risk based approach to securing cultural and historical sites.
Support services for the arts, historical and cultural sectors.
The format of the programme took delegates through a journey where the threats and risks that exist within the sector were discussed and highlighted. This was followed by international best practices and experiences with regards to security and risk management disciplines and finally the different support services and product were highlighted to demonstrate the broadness of the protective services that are available.
The IAASF continues to look for the best speakers from around the world and if you believe you have something positive to share with delegates working within the sector then please feel free to contact IAASF@tridentmanor.com and mark it for the attention of Andy Davis, Chair of the IAASF.
